The Raising Children Together Programme was started at St Mary’s in 2010, and has been highly valued and successful with our parents. Our services are designed to meet the needs of families with multiple, and/or complex needs.
"I have enjoyed every session of this course. I have learnt so much and feel more confident in my ability as a parent and feel as though I
connect with my children and have stronger bonds with them now, as I understand them
better. I’ve had a lot of fun while doing the course and met some really lovely people."

This programme is NOT for bad parents! It is for parents who want to be the best they can be. None of us are perfect parents, and at times we all need ideas and tips on how to support our children in today’s world.
At St Mary’s School we have been inviting our parents to spend time with us, sharing their expertise as parents for six years. In a fun, welcoming environment, we explore how children develop and share tips and ideas that can raise their confidence and self esteem. We consider how to handle challenging behaviour and to motivate our children to engage in every opportunity available to them.
An eleven week course is offered to Mums and a seven week course is offered to Dads (apparently Mums talk more!). It starts in September each year. There is even the opportunity for gaining a Level 1
qualification in parenting - a great attribute if you are considering working within the childcare/school environment. Places are limited so please contact the Family Support Team to find out more and sign up now.
